About Rob Sperling
I’m Rob Sperling, founder of RS Business Ventures and a strategic communications advisor with more than 20 years of experience helping organizations communicate clearly when the stakes are high. My background spans crisis communications, public affairs, brand positioning, stakeholder engagement, and leadership messaging across nonprofit, government, healthcare, technology, and private sector organizations. I founded RS Business Ventures to make practical, experienced communication support more accessible. Not every organization has a full communications bench. Most leaders facing reputational challenge or an operational disruption don’t have weeks to build a strategic partner who has seen what breaks first and know how to prevent it. That is what this practice is built to provide.
My Approach
-
Every engagement starts with one question: What does this organization need to communicate?
Crisis communication is not about spin. It is about structure. The organizations that protect trust under pressure are not the ones with the most polished statements — they are the ones that have thought through their responses before the pressure arrives.
My work is grounded in that belief. Whether I am developing a crisis response system, building stakeholder messaging, advising leadership during an active situation, or creating practical tools for a lean team, the goal is always the same; give the organization a clear path through the moment.

The Owl
The owl has been the symbol of wisdom across human civilization for a reason. In every tradition that honored it — from Athena's Athens to the Celtic seers to the Native American truth-seekers — the owl's defining quality was not power or dominance. It was perception. The ability to see clearly in conditions where clarity is hardest to find. To penetrate the darkness and bring forward what is actually real. That is the spirit behind this work. Crisis communications demands exactly that — the wisdom to know what is confirmed from what is assumed, the insight to find the truth beneath the surface, and the courage to say it plainly.
